Day 4, Brandons

Brandons

Today was completely random, we started out heading to the airport where we were going to view one of only five or six concords left in the world. We got there to find it closed! Very frustrating as we were all fed up of being in the car! A quick change of plan had us heading to Crane beach for a picnic. After a couple hours sun bathing and swimming we headed to the board walk. A new feature just south of Bridgtown. You can basically use this to walk all along the coast for about 2 miles. And you guessed it, I was carrying my surfboard. When everyone else stopped for drinks I headed onwards in search of surf. I found it. Brandons was SO GOOD. Smallish, Around 3ft on set but perfectly formed and once again so few people out. The picture below doesn't do it justice. Ill try and get more another time.

The wave itself breaks over the reef. In places only a foot of water is between your board and the coral. Its fairly smooth though and if you fall flat there are no problems. Occasionally a right hander would creep through but for the majority it was lefts. As the sun set the waves got better and better and i was the only one out! Wave after wave to myself. It was too good to be true. When in got to dark to see at all I headed to the beach where i was greeted with a FREE rum punch and a beer! I LOVE the Caribbean.

More pix of today

If you can't find someone selling coconuts, get your own!

Proper Pale, more sunbathing is needed!

Local larger. Can't go wrong

Walking to Brandons
